I’ve been grappling with issues of discrimination all my life.

I’m a daughter of a Lithuanian descendant mom and a Roma/Gypsy father.

I’m a girl.

I’m Polish and have always worked in my second language.

I’m a single mom.

I’ve been grappling with issues of discrimination all my life.

I’m a single mom.

I’m a leftie. ( I write with my left hand, not communist)

I wear glasses.

I come from a lower-middle-class family and have worked to support my family from the age of 14.

I consider all of these factors my unique strengths - they have made me who I am - strong, resilient, unstoppable, curious, courageous, and kind.

Yet, we live in a world where not everyone gets the chance to see and believe that being different means being unique, beautiful, and special.

Our systemic and societal norms seem to have gone over and above to divide us by inventing concepts of race and status, labeling people and groups instead of nurturing them as all belonging to one #humanrace.

You can call me whatever you want...an ally, an accomplice or a coconspirator but to my mind teaching children to see themselves for who they truly are and that is competent, capable, curious, and creative is simply being a #goodhuman and a #goodteacher.
